Compared the transition between the Ming and Qing Dynasties with the transition between the Republic of China(Nationalist )and the People's Republic of China (Communist), these transitions disclosed some similar patterns. The first common pattern was the conflict with Japan. During the transition of Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Toyotomi shogunate intended to conquer the Ming China. Nurhaci, the Manchus, who unified the people in Ming China and repelled the invasion of Japan army. Similarly, the Communists and the Nationalists were allied and helped to against the Japanese Imperial Army during World War II. The other similarity was the power using of peasant. During the transition of Ming and Qing Dynasties, Zhang Xianzhong and Li Zicheng came from the peasant family background. Li Zicheng intended to overthrow of the Ming Dynasty and established the opening of Qing Dynasty by leading the peasant rebellion. Analogously, in the transition from the Republic of China to the People's Republic of China, Mao Zedong was a person who was born with the peasant family background. Mao Zedong led an army which formed with peasants and workers to start the Revolution. Li Zicheng and Mao Zedong both used the lower class people to support their Revolutions. In addition, after the fall down of Ming Dynasty, some of the Ming's soldiers began to settle in Taiwan. This situation also happened after the failure of Nationalist. Nationalists settled and started the government in Taiwan. These are the similarities that showed the parallels between two transitions.

Although the transition between the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the transition between the Republic of China and the People's Republic of China shared many similar patterns, there were still some major differences. The most important difference was the changes of social system. After the transition from Ming Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, the social system stayed the same which was feudalism. On the other hand, after the transition from Republic of China to People's Republic of China, the social changed from capitalism to socialism. Besides that, the Qing government seemed to have more respects to the old cultures. The Qing Emperors made great efforts in maintaining traditional Chinese art and literature. Unlike the Qing Emperor, the Communist's leader only allowed the beliefs of Communist ideals to exist in People's Republic of China. Mao Zedong encouraged society to value and respect only to the lower class. Also, Mao Zedong tried to destroy and get rid traditional Chinese culture.
