I strongly agree with the article "Mother Really Does Know Best" that when children are growing up is extremely important that their families pass healthy habits on to them. I have two reasons to explain why every parent should guide their children to a healthy lifestyle as a top priority. First, eating healthy not only reduces their chance of obesity, but it also makes them look good and have a longer life. Second, exercising regularly reduces stress and makes them feel more energetic.

For children eating healthy is not just including a lot of vegetables and fruits in their meal, but it is also about eating in the right place. Like the article "Mother Really Does Knows Best" stated, home is the best place to have lunch. People that cook for them at home care about them, like their parents. Mothers are the ones that best know what the nutritional needs of their children are. Their mother's goal is to make them healthier. As an example, when I was ten years old my mom always made sure I had a balanced diet that included protein, carbohydrates, fruits and some fat. She still lectures me about not eating too much candy, fried food and fatty food that does not improve my health. I used to get upset about it, and even sometimes I thought my mom was just giving me a hard time, but learning later about nutrition I realized who was right and wrong. When people go outside to eat some stranger cooks for them. The goal of these people is not to make healthy food, but just to makes the food taste good so the business can sell more. People do not know what they eat when they go to a restaurant because they do not see the people preparing it for them. Eating healthy is very important because it controls weight, prevents diseases such as diabetes and obesity, helps digestion, maintains healthy cholesterol, and makes people look good.

When children are growing up it is very important that they get into the habit of exercising regularly. Exercise is good because it helps the body to eliminate toxins by requiring them to drink water constantly; it also reduces stress and it gives an energetic feeling. As an example, two years ago I was a junior in high school. I was so stressed about that fact that had only six months to take four regent exams, which I was not ready for. During that time my arrival to the country was recent, so my English was not very good. I started going to the gym and exercising for two hours a day. As a result I was able to study more, had more energy for other activities and had control over stress. Some people might have a very stressful time in their lives. If these people know what to do to control it, means their parents did a good job.

As we have seen, when children are growing up is extremely important that parents get their children into healthy habits. Some good examples are eating healthy and exercising regularly. Eating healthy does not just mean to include a lot of vegetables
