INTRODUCTION

Last Tuesday (7 August) u asked me to check up on the issues around the cleanliness of the office kitchen. After my investigation I sum up with some disappointed results and I also email you the report too. Some issues needs quick attention.

PROCEDURE

To get help in my inspection I read the kitchen policies, chatted to the secretary and had a look around the kitchen o Thursday and Friday.

FINDINGS

According to the secretary there should be an official policy about kitchen duties, but at the place of inspection I haven't found anything like that .Kitchen's is a disgusting mess. There is no policies and procedure about the cleaning of the kitchen.

On further discussion secretary told me that she is the only one who cleans up the kitchen most of the time, other people just help her sometimes in loading the dishwasher. It seems that they all are not concern about the cleaning of kitchen, they just have got lazy.

During my inspection I found many unhygienic things going on in kitchen area. No one empty the dishwasher when it is clean. Food is left in the fridge for weeks which is a health hazard. People are not cleaning their own mess like dirty plates and cups.

I have taken some pictures which makes a clear vision about what level of hygienic standard our office kitchen is in at present I will email that too to you. It would be embarrassing to have visitors in there as well.

CONCLUSION

I the end I would like to suggest you that this situation will get worst if we haven't taken any quick solutions to these problems. We need a quick meeting with all the people working in there. I think we need to prepare a duty roaster for the kitchen so everyone should know their duties and do some regular checks. I think the information in this report will help you to maintain healthy and hygienic standards in office kitchen area.
