Sleep Deprivation

Sleep plays a major role in everybody's life and sleep is something that everyone needs. You need sleep to help you function. It is recommended that you get at least 8 hours of sleep. Being deprive of you sleep can cause major issues with your driving, also being able to concentrate in school, and in your work place. Our bodies are like a battery, if we don't store enough energy for the next day you body will not work correctly or efficiently.

Going without sleep can result in a major problem with your driving. Lack of sleep can trigger you to see things that don't exist or you may fall asleep at the wheel. This can cause an accident causing you or somebody else to get hurt. This will also get your licenses taken for a long period of time. Statistics show that 68% of wrecks are due to lack of sleep. 51% say that they were drowsy and the other 17% says that they just doze off. More than 200,000 accidents occur due to sleepiness. One out of five pulls over on the side of the road when they are feeling sleepy.

In addition bad sleep habits can cause students not to concentrate better in school. Statistics show that student with bad sleep habits receive poor test scores. If teenagers don't receive the correct amount of sleep it makes it hard for the student to function properly. Teenagers need a lot of sleep. This also can cause the student to be late for class with we result in numerous amount of tardiness. Numerous amount of tardiness will result in the student eventually receive a low grade or even failing the class. So students' getting the correct amount of sleep is very important.

Another major effect of sleep deprivation is low work efficiency. Lack of sleep deprives people of their concentration and attention. Most employees say that they find it hard to focus and handle stress at work when deprive of their sleep. More than 8% of people find themselves falling asleep at work and 20% find themselves making numerous mistakes at work due to lack of sleep. This can result in you losing pay because they have cut your hours because of the sleeping at work. They job may even decide to fire you.

Getting the right amount of sleep will prevent needles troubles in life. Saving ourselves from driving drowsy, lack of concentration in class, and poor work habits will benefit everyone in the future.
