There is no doubt that technology has changed the way organizations to do businesses. Technology helps improving the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of internal business process. Without technology we could have achieve less than what we could do with the integration of technology. But besides all the benefits that technology offers, businesses also face some sort of difficulties such as the internal relationship among employees as well as external relationship with customers. Technology also has some negative impact on social relationship and weakens communication skills.

Technology can affect the internal relationship in organizations. With the development of Internet nowadays, it's a breeze if you want to contact someone who is on another side of the world. Virtual conference is used more and more in companies than ever before. Companies can hold meetings without all parties have to physically present in the same place. A drawback is that meeting with somebody over the Internet is much less personal than meeting face-to-face. It also decreases the personal aspect that is always crucial in business environment. The external relationship with customers is also affected. Giving information to customers through emails or phone make them feel less important especially the customers are ones that potentially give you financial support for your start up. Some banks ignore the importance of meeting face to face with their customers, whom they need to build trust with. Technology hinders your social relationships with your friends, family and colleagues. People now are fond to talk with their friend via Facebook or text messages rather than meeting them personally. Over time, one's face-to-face communication skills are weakened because your social skill is not practice enough and that will hurt your chances of advancing in the workplace according to the work of Dr. Gray Small, a psychiatrist at UCLA. Despite all the negative impacts of technology it also benefits businesses. For example; customer support need to be addressed immediately. We cannot do that without the help of technology. Information exchange in organization would be less effective without Internet network because it will take more time to transfer information from top managers to employees. Technology encourages innovation and creativity in workplace. It can be use to promote online business and Amazon is one the examples. Companies now recruit people easier with the help of Internet. It improves the process of screening and hiring by advertising the jobs online and gathering all the submitted resumes through the Internet. Technology also helps to keep track performance and productivity of employees at work but those monitoring should be done carefully because giving employees responsibility, trust and respect boosts their morale and productivity. Showing them that they are not trusted and must be recorded decreases morale and worker productivity.
