Teen pregnancy is one of the most difficult experiences a young person might ever face.
Pregnancy at a young age can be preventable, stressful, and also life changing. Teen pregnancy is
skyrocketing out of control when it is something that doesn't have to happen.
First thing teens should know about having sex is there are three ways to prevent
conceiving a baby. Some teens take their pregnancy as a surprise while most of them deny it, but
other teens plan to become pregnant. One way to prevent pregnancy is abstinence. Abstinence is
an excellent choice to make when being a young teenage girl. Secondly, a young girl can not
become pregnant if there is a condom is involved. Condoms do not only prevent pregnancy they
also prevent sexually transmitted diseases. Lastly, birth control is another option which also
helps girls with their acne and cramps.
Secondly, becoming a teen parent can be extremely stressful. Most teens are still in high
school when they become pregnant which means they do not have a financial way of supporting
the baby. A teen mother has an 85% chance that she will be caring for that baby alone since most
young men aren't ready for that responsibility. The emotions that come with being pregnant can
be overwhelming. Most teens don't realize what a huge responsibility raising a child might be.
Finally, becoming a teen parent will change your life forever. Did you have plans of
going to college and living the party life? Were you planning on traveling the world after
graduation? When you have a baby the plans you've made for yourself are all destroyed because
there is now someone else to think about. Moving to college alone with a baby will be difficult,
who will watch the baby while you go to class. Having a job is really the most important thing
for you to do. You are going to have to be able to have money to survive. The baby's need will
always come before your own.
