A few of the terms of the treaty revolved around Germany paying their dues, and accepting the blame, that they started the war, which was also known as the 'War Guilt' clause. Germany was to pay reparations, decrease the size of their military, their colonies were given to other countries, and they were also not allowed to build some of the destructive types of war machines. I believe that because of these conditions, we caused more resentment towards each other. Although we were only trying to prevent Germany from creating another war, maybe we did just the opposite by forcing such harsh conditions upon them."
