Sole Proprietorship

  1. Introduction

Sole proprietorship is unincorporated businesses owned by one person and fully conducts the business itself. It is the easiest and used individual assets and properties to form the business. The capital required by a sole proprietorship to form business is totally arranged by the sole proprietor. This report shows an example of sole proprietorship business that belongs to William Briton situated in the district of Rosario, Batangas.

His business begun in just a simple decision. In the past, Mr. William worked overseas however he decided to stay here in the Philippines for good and thus, he wants to start up a business resulting on putting up a grocery store. With good coordination and communication with his consumers, his business is on its 20th year mark in the making.

The purpose of this report is to seek in-depth information and to attempt to examine a specific case, as well as, to develop and demonstrate an understanding of a real-life case. It is important to analyze a business or organization and describes how that business or organization benefited by implementing the preferred product or solution. It is also considerable to know how it continues to strive with the ever-changing demands and wants of consumers, the price of goods and number of competitors. This case study will further brief about Mr. William’s business, its organizational structure and its SWOT analysis. In addition, how the business contributes to the environment especially its contribution to the business world.

  1. Managing People

Despite the fact that a sole proprietorship is not technically a business entity, owners can hire employees. There is no limit on the number of employees that a sole proprietor can employ. As the employer, a sole proprietor is responsible for setting up standards and guidelines as well as policies for his or her employees. As for Mr. William, when it comes to managing his people, he conducts strict rules and obligations to help them be well-disciplined and for them to do their utmost best. But all of these have no worth, if there is no trust between employer and employees.
