When were you born?

On January 12th, 1943 in Sisseton, South Dakota

How was life back then?

It was normal and good just the same without all the new technology.

What was school like?

It was boring I didn't really listen to the teachers.

What was your first job? And how much did you get paid?

My first job was at a movie theater I got it in 7th or 8th grade. I got $13.00 a week. Which was about .25 cents an hour, which was a lot back then.

What did you do after school?

Basketball, chased girls, hang out wit friends, work, drove around.

What did you do in your spare time?

Drove around, hung out wit friends,swam at Crystal lake.

Who was your best friend?

Cleon Brooks

what was the technology like?

Pinball machine, radio, and TV color in 1961

How much did things cost?

A coke was a nickle, to go to the movies was if you were 12 and under it was 13 cents and over 12 was 50 cents, and a hamburger and coke was 25 cents at McDonald's. You could get a lot more wit a nickle then you can with a dollar today.

What did you wear?

Jeans and a t-shirt.

Did you have any pets?

7 brothers and sisters.

How much did gas cost?

Gas cost 22 cents a gallon.

What was your first car?

1956 chevy convertible that charmed his girlfriend Jan Knutson.

What did you wanna be when you grew up?

To fly planes, when I was little I got a flying magazine and wanted to be a pilot ever since.

What did your dad do?

He farmed, a great farmer at that.

What high School did you graduate from?

Sisseton High School.

When did you get married?

Got married to jan knutson in November 24th, 1962.
