The Gallery I chose to visit is Synchronicity Art Gallery. The Art work there was very impressive. There were some that caught my eye and some that I really did not care to much for. The piece of work in particular that caught my eye was created by an artist that goes by the name of George Peebles. The piece that he created is called Farm Valley. It's another piece that I didn't care too much for and it's called Depth and Evaluation by Anne Marie Buckman. The Farm Valley Piece has a variety of colors and is an oil painting. The painting gives you an illusion of a beautiful day with a couple of clouds in the sky, as the sun sets the mountains show on the horizon. It also shows a hint of a town vaguely with a possible train heading west. As the picture comes closer you can see some wheat fields and some traces of water. The colors get more vivid as it nears to the front. The fore front of the painting has an illusion of water that gives reflections of the crops and fields. The Depth and Evaluation painting is a series of shapes layered upon each other. It has different textures and hues that appear to either be coming out at you or going inward depending on how you view it. The shapes separate the depths of the painting.

The Farm Valley painting displays a beautiful day in a perfect world. It resembles the balance of beauty between the earth and the sky. It also represents the intricate relationship between earth the water and how the water becomes one with the farm land. The Depth and Perception painting is bland, but it is also an abstract painting that can portray anything depending on the viewer reality. This makes me see the things that disrupt perfection. Such as things once connected and now broken in two.

According to Synchronicity Art Gallery, George Peebles embarked on his life work. Painted from memory, his works reflect "that place inside of us where we are most connected to the natural world in which we live." He says, "These are places I see in my heart and my soul." Anne Marie Buckman said, "My work depicts life today with its fast pace uncertainties and seeming disorder. I add sufficient stabilizing structure to provide the balance that is necessary in life. The balance between structure and uncertainty is achieved through the use of the vibrancy of color, the interest of texture and the stability of form."

After reviewing the art work and finding out the true meanings behind the paintings it did change my perspective some. At first I was just looking at the colors of the paintings that caught my eye because I am attracted to bright things, so that was one of the main reasons why I like Georges painting. Anne's painting wasn't as attractive to the human eye, but after analyzing it and comparing my interpertations to her true meaning of the painting, it gave me a deeper appreciation to the painting. In the end beauty is more than what meets the eye;
