BC325 Online/ “Think piece” No. 1

In today society the media plays a big role on the content present to individuals. Everybody’s ideas are different one can see that though different media cast. Being a leader of Nation one has to deal with theses situations on a daily basis. You are required to protect your own government, economy and way of life.  Regulations and restrictions on what the people can listen to and watch is mandatory. There would be measures to be taken to prevent the people of your nation form getting other signals.

I can only imagine what it would be like to be the policy maker and to be in control of individual’s rights to view different forms of media. I would first have to look at the government’s economy also how the domestic media systems place a roll awhile trying to fix the situation. I would then have to see if it was possible for nations to get back up on its feet. I will also compare my nations to other nation’s media content. I would have to determine if I would like signals from other nations to be able to be seen in my nation. The regulations and the restriction on the media content would be a way to protect my country’s economy would be in four phrases.  The first would be repair by relieving some stress put on by the media. I would focus on the measures that would create more jobs growth and how to protect my government. The second would be reform, it would lay the foundation for the economy for today, tomorrow, and in the future. After setting the foundation I would move on to the third step to rebalance in this step I would shift the public media to private media; this is helping emerge markets to provide global recovery. The fourth phrase is rebuild I would change my policies to protect individuals from harmful content. This would also show society that global content has its risk and complications to ones perceptions. By going this route the global economy challenges would finally have solutions. “Debt crisis has worsened financial strains are rising. And again without collective, bold, action, there is real risk that major economies slip back instead of moving forward. Low-income countries have been experiencing reasonable growth, but remain highly vulnerable to economic dislocation form elsewhere in the world-including from commodity price volatility, which comes with heavy social cost.” (Lagarde, 2013)

After getting the nations backup on its feet through the four steps I would make regulations and restrict certain media content. There would be restrictions on received transmitted media form other countries. I would explain to the individuals why it’s harmful to the nation’s growth. In the general policy would regulate the goals of broadcasting along with associated cultural image. People are audio visual learners by enabling some of the media content it would protect individuals from harm to themselves or others. The broadcast the market would now have all cultural identity and promoting diversity specific to that nation. There would be an “iron law of television” consisting of society and television. The programming schedule would be filled with material domestic programs. The ideas of a different culture would no long make its impressionable views upon the individuals. “The theory of "cultural uniformity" purports that television is used to distribute the same message to millions of people who have in common only the fact that they are all watching and con summing TV. By only showing a small part of are fracted reality -- generally urban, middle--class lifestyles -- television homogenizes people, thus marginalizing languages and national cultural identities. Television disrupts and can even destroy families and personal relationships: nobody talks to anyone anymore; everyone just watches television. Thus, if what the viewers see is largely American products, which reflect largely American values and beliefs, the viewers will subtly and subconsciously develop their thinking to fit the American belief system.” (McDonald, 1999)

Regulations and restrictions on what the people would be able to listen to and watch is mandatory. There would be measures to be taken to prevent the people of your nation form getting other signals. Dealing with the different situations as a leader I would protect the government, economy and the way of life of individuals. Media plays a big part in society perceptions on the world. Each person views media differently but the effect it has on the person can be managed by the content show on television. “A lot of people in the media, and some everyday people, really aren't in search of the truth. They're in search of something worse than that. Money, yeah. I think the media's the kind of a thing where the truth doesn't win, because it's no fun. The truth's no fun. (Brainyquotes.com, 2013)
