Benefit Baking Company

Our bakery produces the highest quality gluten-free bread and pastries for individuals searching for safe yet tasty baked goods. Here at Benefit Baking we strive to provide our unique customers with the best option of gluten-free as well as regular baked goods. Also, by offering educational cooking classes, we will create an enhanced community of consumers that will choose us for our great service, high quality and assurance in the safety of our delectable selections.

Legal Form of Business

The legal form of business that our team has chosen is an S-Corp. We have chosen this form of business because it allows our company exemption from double taxation and we are able to stay in business for an unlimited amount of time. Because Benefit Baking is a small bakery, we will have no more than 100 shareholders, making this an attractive form of business, and one that is less complex than the alternatives.

Business Description

Over the last several years, the US has seen a dramatic increase in the prevalence of individuals dealing with gluten allergies and intolerances, as well as a host of other food allergies. There are very few bakeries that incorporate this unique market's needs into their menus. With this bakery we plan on not only serving the individuals whom are allergic to gluten but their friends or family members that wish to indulge in a delicious pastry with them, without having to stop at two different pastry shops. Some of the goods that will be offered are bread, muffins, cookies, cupcakes and cake. Benefit Baking will also make special order cakes which can either be regular, gluten-free, egg-free or custom made without certain ingredients to fit the customers needs. One of the most innovative services we will offer is cooking classes. These cooking classes will show the students how to cook delicious gluten or allergy friendly meals and how to properly care for utensils used to avoid cross-contamination. This shop will also offer catering to special events.

Consumer Demographics

Benefit Baking's customers will be middle to upper class individuals who are allergic to gluten and health conscious individuals who strive to live and eat healthy. College students from nearby George Mason University will also be a huge part of our customer base.
