Bill Cosby formally know as William H. Cosby Jr. was born July 12, 1937. He was born in the projects of Philly. Living in the life he did he had a very successful life. Cosby first started making jokes when he was young. One of his teachers quoted, "William should become either a lawyer or an actor because he lies so well." He also started to impersonate different people. Cosby ended up dropping out of school after he learned that he would have to repeat a grade. After dropping out he worked a lot of jobs, the Bill joined the Navy in 1956. After the service and earning his high school equivalency diploma, he attended Temple University on a track scholarship.

Bill Cosby had a very successful career at being a comedian, While going to school he got a job at a coffee shop and eventually got a comedian job at a club after telling so many jokes at the coffee shop. He was the warm up for his cousins radio show telling jokes. He started out telling jokes but racial things, but then focused more on stories and other things in life. Bill's first major appearance was on The Tonight Show, landing a recording contract for his first comedy album Bill Cosby Is a Very Funny Fellow...Right! Then in 1964 he won a Grammy for his album I Started Out as a Child. He was successful for the remaining of the 1960s. He won another five Grammys for releasing hit albums after albums. Later he won two more Grammys for recordings for children.

One major effect Bill Cosby had U.S Culture is the fact he was the first African American to co-star in a dramatic series. This series called I Spy ran for three years. He won three Emmy awards for his hard work. I Spy was made during the civil rights movement Many other shows he was apart of includes; The Cosby Show, Cos, The Cosby Mysteries, and Cosby. Bill also was in a children's television show called The Electric Company. He then created Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids. Bill Cosby made a continuation of Kids Say the Darndest Things, where he would interview kids on the rules of life.

Bill Cosby also wrote many books. Some of the books he wrote were; Fatherhood, Cosbyology, Fat Albert, The Worst Day of My Life, Hooray for the Dandelion Warrior, Little Bill, and many more. He mainly wrote children's books because the love he had for educating kids.

Movies were a big part of Bill's career also. Just like books and TV shows he stared in many movies. Movies like Fat Albert, Bill Cosby Himself, Uptown Saturday Night, Mother, Jugs, and Speed, Leonard Part 6, Jack, 4 Little Girls, Lightening In a Bottle, plus numerous more.

Besides all of theses many great accomplishments, he is also known for how much he helps out with charity work, donations, and giving gifts to colleges to help with education. He also helped with social and civil rights organizations.

Most of all in all the years that Bill Cosby has been famous the most impressive thing is all the awards
