As an intern at Club It, Lisa Tejada and Ruben Keys have allowed me to experience the process that takes a club from being a dream that two people share in college to an actual money making company. Club IT is a downtown music venue that has done extremely well during my time as an intern. The club is very busy on evenings and people are enjoying their selves by eating, drinking and just having fun. (Wiley, 2007) With all the hard work the staff does Club IT seems to be on the fast track to being one of the number one night clubs around. With the club's success, I do believe Lisa and Ruben have the ability to actually open up a second Club IT. There are a few concerns that I have noticed over the last few months that I have been interning with the club and would like to discuss them.

The club has a great theme and really knows how to cater to its audience. When people come to club it they are able to have fun and really enjoy the atmosphere. There are many live bands that perform and usually the club is always packed. The club caters to a wide variety of people ranging from Hip-Hop to Techno music. (Wiley, 2007) Most of Club IT's clientele are of the technology age. The remodel of the clubs appearance really helps attract people with the visual aspect but I believe if we remodel Club IT's information system them the club will do better in future sales. With a few minor changes like updating the internet system, e-commerce and m-commerce, it will change the basics foundation of the company allowing for operations in the information systems to run smoother.

From my short time here as an intern for Club IT, I have gathered that the goal for the club is to be able to cater to its audience by allowing the customer a fun and safe environment to enjoy music. From speaking with Lisa and Ruben I understand that in the future there are plans to open a second Club IT and making a profit in the process. Changing and updating the information systems will save the company money when it comes to productivity and using the time and resources that we have effectively. Also updating the information systems will allow for the increase of clientele there for increasing the chance and need of opening the second location for Club IT.

My first concern is the dial up system that the company is currently running on. Dial up is a good system but not one to run a business off of. The cash registers, computers, and many other features that the club is proud of all run on the internet. Dial up is slower and is causing the functions of the club to be slower as well. To process credit card payments for ticket purchasing and drink at the bar both use a lot of the dial up system and causes it to run slower. If the company decides to switch from dial up to DSL, which is a digital subscriber line, it can allow the company to process internet usage up to 50 times faster than standard modems because of the different frequencies that DSL is allowed to encode the data with. (Unknown, 2011) With dial up it uses the phone line and is limiting the amount of calls that can come in for ticket sales or other business related questions. That is money being missed while being on the internet. With DSL it is a digital connect and doesn't not require a phone line. This gives the club more access to be able to do more things with the internet during peak hours. Also since DSL is not bus technology it offers more consistent bandwidth than cable modems and allows for multiple users to share the same bandwidth. Updating the internet service from dial up to DSL should be something that we can do with in a couple of days. We can call some of the local providers and find which one would better fit the needs of the company. By making this update it will increase productivity for the employees at the club, by increase transactions sales and research for the club.

Another concern is the m-commerce for the club. Mobile access is a big factor for the type of people that the club caters to. Many young people that are looking to come to the club want to be able to use a mobile device for access to the club either to purchase tickets or to make reservations for a group event. These should be factors that the club offers as a mobile app or internet webs site that is accessible from mobile devices. M-Commerce or known as mobile commerce is the buying and selling of goods and services through wireless handheld devices such as cellular phones and PDA's with out having to access regular internet. There are many different companies that have already started using m-Commerce. There is mobile banking, mobile bill pay and many different retail stores that have mobile shopping. The club could use this idea to send out text messages with bands that are playing or events that are happening at the club or text to make reservations. It will allow people that don't have time to call in or come to the location to make reservations for the club. I will have to get with IT department about the features that will be best to reach out to our clientele. The project should take a month or two to be fully functional and able to get the customers registered to send out mobile text and updates.

The third area of concern
