With the development of technology, scientists are trying their best to solve some world problem, such as “how to feed all people in the world”by using advanced technology, like genetically modified technology. Because of the growth of the population all over the world, there are many Genetically Modified Food came out.GM foods are using the methods of genetic engineering to make the products from an organism have some changes put into their DNA to a new kind of food.[pic 1]GM foods [pic 2]are[pic 3] via DNA recombination, genetic material is isolated from one organism and introduced into another. The first genetically modified food was genetically modified crops,it was come out in 1983,then an American company found out a new kind of potato depended on the technology of genetically modified crops. In 1994 America government allowed it came to supermarket shelf. After this many kinds of genetically modified food came out.But as a new technology, government should regulate it as soon as possible.Because genetically modified food is not safe. This essay is about the safety of the GM foods, the harm it does to the environment and the economic inequality when it came into market.

Nowadays, people are more care about their health and because of the increasing of the population, there are many genetically modified food come out to feed the need of people.Although this kind of technology can feed more and more people,it brings potential risk to human’s health. There are four categories that are bad for human’s health------allergies, toxicities, nutrient imbalances, and decreasing diet diversity.Because of the development of agricultural biotechnology the product of crops have been increased. There is little document shows the evidence that genetically modified crops are potentially toxic. All food contain many DNA and RNA,it is safe, but the concern is the [pic 4]protein may be toxic because of the transgene. And the research find that [pic 5]meal- derived DNA fragments which are large enough to carry complete genes can avoid degradation and through an unknown mechanism enter the human circulation system.[[pic 6] Bruce,2006].Potential allergenicity is another concern. The [pic 7]genes from the known[pic 8] allergies [pic 9]may be used to insert into the crops which are not associated with[pic 10] allergenecity [pic 11]and the different and [pic 12]uncertain[pic 13] genes will change the allergies or by [pic 14]changing the setting of insides proteins.[pic 15]

Growing genetically modified food has impact not only to human’s health but also on the environment.Any type of agriculture [pic 16]has an impact on the environment[pic 17] especially [pic 18]genetic engineering.[pic 19] It [pic 20]may speed up the[pic 21] damage [pic 22].Growing genetically modified plants in the field would raised[pic 23] the [pic 24]concern[pic 25] of [pic 26]the potential transfer of genes.[pic 27] GM food are always change [pic 28]to be insect resistant, virus resistant, or herbicide tolerant.[pic 29] Because of those ex[pic 30]changes,[pic 31] environment is facing [pic 32]many great [pic 33]challenges.Firstly, toxicity is a vast issue, chemical pesticides[pic 34] hand [pic 35]herbicides[pic 36] are always be [pic 37]used , in addition to the toxicity is bad for  these plants.[pic 38] GM food [pic 39]may be also toxic to[pic 40] the [pic 41]target[pic 42] which are not the really target organisms.Toxicity evaluation of three pesticides on non-target aquatic.[Pereira R,2009]Currently [pic 43],bees and butterflies[pic 44] are [pic 45]being the most[pic 46] popular [pic 47]examples. Bees are[pic 48] pretty [pic 49]important in the pollination of many food and crops, but unfortunately it is endangerous because of the modern agricultural techniques, such as GM crops. Monarch butterflies are also at risk because of GM food or GM plants. Besides bees and butterflies, birds are at risk as well.It is also because of GM food.People will ask why,it do not make sense of pollination. But do you know they live in the tree and always eat the gains of the tree.Because of the peticides, they will die after eating the gains which growing on the tree has peticides.[pic 50] Evidence [pic 51]also[pic 52] suggests that although [pic 53]the[pic 54] changes [pic 55]of[pic 56][pic 57]small changes in genes may make sence to a larger environment changes.[pic 58]
