It is naturally known that communicating plays a pivotal role in developing a stronger community nowadays. The truth is, however, there are still a good deal of limits on communicating, especially the language barrier among people coming from different cultures and states. Therefore, using only one language worldwide would certainly be advantageous but also serve its drawbacks.

Obviously, one global language will make it easier for understanding among people or countries. People are more likely to become sociable and have no major problems about getting along with others, outside or inside their countries. This global language will help us be in line with mainstream trends of the world and catch up with the latest information. For example, at workplace, there are numerous good officials who want to do well, so if they can communicate effectively with their boss or colleagues, they will totally be able to perform at their fullest potential. This, in most cases, would mean that they become a more valuable asset to the company and probably be promoted for higher positions. Also, it boost the productivity of trading among areas and bring about a revolution in economy growth.

On the other hand, if the only one language is globally spoken, a diversity of cultures and national identities will vanish. People will no longer be interested in setting foot in every corner of the world, discover the exotic cultures and gain a deeper insight into humanity. This, understandably, will cause an irreparable damage to the tourism growth and national profits. Especially, it will put many countries at risk as tourism has always been their biggest source of income.

In brief, while having one language undoubtedly enchances communication, too much would be lost consequently. However, providing that we can maintain our own various language and diverse cultures, we can build a vigorous life and ensure the future generation’s civilisation.
