Being in business working in a bank is something I would really look forward into doing. After hearing that Government Employees Credit Union turned 55 dollars into one of the largest privately-owned financial institution in El Paso with assets of over $1.4 billion, made choosing GECU a good place to start a career.

GECU began to take form on the year of 1932 by 11 El Pasoans. It was first called the Federal Employees Credit Union, and there intent was to gain some type of financial Independence. Once GECU opened their membership to the region around them their membership would soon reach 300,000 and with their belief of "People Helping People", GECU has become one of El Paso most respected institutions. GECU has been around since 1932, and knowing that banks are much heavily regulated today than they were in the past, GECU is more likely to stay in business for a long period of time.

Looking at the different jobs available at GECU I would really like to apply as a member of sales and service officer. This position only requires you to have a high school diploma making it convenient. With a pay that is fair about 12.05 dollars an hour the areas they ask you to be knowledgeable isn't that bad. If I was to be interested in applying for this job I would have to have extensive knowledge of credit union services, with emphasis on special promotions and new services. Also I would have to know a little something on business law and detailed knowledge of consumer credit laws and regulations related to loan/deposit products. GECU know has over 700 employees and since one of its goals is to reach out to more people it is actively opening new branches in the el Paso area. "By this summer it plans to open an electronic-centered branch at 12400 Mont wood on the far East Side ... We're trying to take the business where they (members) want us to be," May said during a recent interview in GECU's $23 million headquarters building on Airway, which opened in 2008"(Vic Kolenc). It sound like GECU really likes to making things better for its members, and a clue about that is their mission statement which is

"To meet members financial needs. our goal is to earn members trust. Our aim is to become members primary financial institution. Our utmost desire is to provide total member satisfaction in everything we do"

This job also does come with benefits included, it has some type of medical insurance if you choose to take it and it also includes dental insurance as well. You don't get any type of holidays off and for the position I would be interested in working for there is no type of severance deal.

I've always been accustomed to working at places where you get paid minimum wage, and vie been able to live a comfortable life. Getting pay boost of almost 5 dollars an hour would fit in my comfort zone pretty good. And with More than 13 locations in el Paso, GECU is looking pretty strong.

The next company that has become nearly as big as GECU in a shorter amount of time is ECHO Star. Echo is a technology company that has has become such a big player by buying companies such as Hughes Net, which is north Americas number one satellite internet provider, SingLoaded, Troppus Software. Echo star is sitting nice and cozy with assets of 2.1 billion. EchoStar first began its journey on the year 1980 and it was selling c band TV systems. IT soon applies for an license which gave it enter orbital slot 119 degrees longitude and launched its first satellite EchoStar 1 in 1996. In 1998 working with Bell Canada Echo star launches Dish Network Canada. After taking a beating on the technological side of things in 2008 EchoStar divided up its shares and
