SUMMARY:

This book aims at encouraging others to achieve more. In the initial chapters the author recognizes the problems which are faced by people working in an organization on an individual level or when they are working in a team and when they are working in a group. Then the different approaches which are to be adopted are explained. While working with individuals the approaches to keep in mind are that not all individuals are same and equal which is explained under the heading of 'one size fits all', furthermore the author feels building a relationship with every individual is also important, coaching, counseling, mentoring are also necessary, the person should also be able to transform the boring activities or tasks to interesting ones to enhance motivation and the most important thing is to eradicate all the negatives which generate demotivation.

When working on motivating a team you should first concentrate on what they want to achieve collectively and they need to concentrate on what are their goals, every member of the team should be clear about the goals that need to be met, the blockages which hinder the path of the team should also be removed, furthermore there needs to be a sense of unity among the team members which means they need to recognize themselves as WE instead of I. When motivating a team the approaches which are used for individuals also apply but here an additional motivational role to be played is that of leadership.

While dealing with groups you must bear in mind that you are working with people on a large scale thus you need to use approaches which can be used with a large number of people at the same time. You must ask yourself a few questions before working with these people. You should know why these people are here and there are different approaches for people with different purposes. Then you also need to be clear about what you need to deliver to these people and accordingly use a different approach. In an information session you need to have an effective speaker and a good video to hold the audience's attention and if you want the audience to carry the message with them giveaways
