Leadership is a quality which cannot be acquired by any person from the other but it can be acquired by self-determination of a person. When we work in a team, group, company or more, the leader takes a very important role. Although the task is equally contributed to every member in a group, it is the leader who orients and directs the process to its destination. Effective leadership skills include: the ability to influence others; the ability to encourage others to set up and achieve goals; understanding toward the experiences and ideas of others; a sense of direction and a vision for the group; the motivation to take risks in the face of challenges.

Good leaders are continually working and studying to improve their leadership skills; they are not trying to take it easy. Leadership is a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective and directs the team. Leaders carry out this process by applying their leadership attributes, such as beliefs, values, ethics, temperament, knowledge, and skills. Although your position as a manager, supervisor, controller, etc. gives you the authority to accomplish certain tasks and objectives in the team, this power does not make you a leader, it simply makes you the boss. Leadership differs in that it makes the followers want to achieve high goals, rather than simply bossing people around.

In addition, there are three main things that make a good leader. The first is that a leader must practice what he preaches. The second is that he has to look after and protect those around him. The third is that he must be able to develop other good leaders. A big part of being a good leader is knowing how to take the blame when things go wrong, and how to give away credit when things go well. A good leader knows that when things go bad or wrong, it's his responsibility to take the blame, even if it was not his fault. And when things go well, a good leader knows that it's his responsibility to make sure that he gives the credit to the deserving person who did the great work.

Finally, a good leader must be faithful to his group members and activities. This in turn, will result in an atmosphere of assurance among the followers. Having faith in self-abilities and the world around him/her the leader gains inspiration and also inspires others in the process.
