Even though personal responsibility is not graded by the instructor, it plays a pivotal role in college and life success because personal responsibility drives the individual to complete an assignment or a project, and it also develops the individual to be proficient at life, work, and school.

When an individual takes responsibility for an assignment or project, the end result often shows meaningfulness and quality. This is due to fact that that individual takes ownership for his or her work and integrates his or her motivation into the work. Moreover, personal responsibility covers all aspects of an individual's life. It could be at work. When a person is assigned a task, he or she works on the task proactively and creates an action table to showcase the progression. It could be at school. When there is an assignment, the student takes responsibility to plan the work well and complete the assignment timely. It could be at home. A person knows when and how to take care of his or her family among other commitments. It could be at a community. The individual knows and takes actions for supporting a good cause or participating in a community project. Personal responsibility allows the student to plan tasks systematically, such as a daily action plan and to-do/priority list. As a result, the student can complete the degree timely and become an effective learner at school and life.
