I have really learned a lot in the course of CAES 2905. At first, I have no idea of what is a resume and have no idea of how to find a real job in the labour market. During the course, Miss Chan taught me a lot and gave me a lot of advice about the path of future career. Thank you very much, miss chan. For example, I have never draft my resume before, now I have learnt how to write a resume in sophisticated manner by using action verb and also how to write the resume in an organized format with presentable manner to impress my employer.

The team work for this project was also a great experience for me. For the project, we were required to find a company to visit and have an interview with a professional worker who works in any industry that we are interested in. Our group eventually decided to interview with banker who works in BEA bank in HKU campus.

Mr. Fong is a HKU graduate who is also major in Economic and Finance.

One of my strengths is that I am able to talk confidently in front of anyone including strangers and can make friends with them easily. The BEA bank was really my first official company visits. Although I am not fluent in English, I am still able to interview the banker just like I am having a causal conversion with my friends and family members. To me, this is really a comparative advantage in searching job in the labour market, because I remember Mr. Fong stress that good communication skills is more important than anything in the job market now. What also makes me surprise is that he say our scores in university (GPA) is not that important in finding job. Before the interview, I though high GPA is the most important criteria in applying job in job market. But he eventually point out that good communication skills and having work experience are more important.

On the other hand, a lack of creativity is my greatest weakness. In the modern society, it is essential to think out of the box and not all the things have a standardized format. Curiosity is one of the characteristic of highly creative people. So I need to become a people keep always asking why about the surrounding activities which is happening to us, and creativity can be sometimes inspired by understanding the general ideas in different industries. The creative potential of mind mapping or brainstorming shouldn't be underestimated as well. These tools can help our brain to establish associations and integrate different ideas with each other. A brainstorming session can help me to generate a dozen of new ideas, concepts and associations.

My second weakness is the proficiency in English. In the modern society, all of the businesses are conducted in English. So it is essential for me to be good in English in all three aspects: reading, listening and speaking. I plan to read English newspaper every day to enlarge my vocabulary base and to speed up the time of reading.
