I think that the plot of this book is Rusty is thinking of what it was like when he was a kid because Steve brings back old memories that he tried to forget about when he went to his anger management class. I also think it is about Rusty learning his lesson about cheating on someone like what he did to his ex Catherine.

The setting of this book starts out in the early 80's on the beach in the middle of the day. Than it goes into a flash back when Rusty was a teenager in the mid 70's. Then it goes back to the early 80's on the beach in mid day talking to Steve and his girlfriend.
