Policeman of the World?

The United State of America has been a powerhouse since the beginning of our existence. The American Revolution was important in our history. The colonists defeated the most powerful nation of the time. Since then, Americans have kept the momentum going. Nationalistic views help form who we are today. Patriotism is important to most Americans. Some believe that that because of Americans views of themselves and others that the US should be the policemen of the world. Others say that Americans should not accept that role because that is not constitutional. It is a contemporary issue that causes controversy in the world.

Many say because of the qualities of America, that we should look out for other nations. A threat to the world is terrorists. Unstable regions can produce terrorists in the world. Nations cant grow and develop with the threat of these terroists and warlords trying to gain power. Not a nation can thrive to the best of its ablility when people whose goal is to harm other nations. A foreign policy of America is Humanitarian aid, and Americans can't do that unless they have a relationship with the other nations. With America leading the way in democracy, other countries can follow and it might lead to a united and stable world. Being the "policemen of the world" can help protect American interests (trading partners, military allies, countries with needed resources, etc.). The most important reason why US should be the policemen is that no other country in the world has the power to play this role.

Others say that it is not the American job to protect the other nations of the world. Being the policemen could increase the already growing "anti-American" sentiment around the world. Sometimes America could make the wrong decisions. Many people would have to enforce this policy which would put American people in harm's way. Unfortunately, during these missions many people would die. Financial costs would overwhelm our country and our national debt.

In my opinion, the United States of America should be the policemen of the world. It will help keep the world stable and protected. Because of our country's wealth and patriotism we will be able to set goals for the world and reach them quickly and efficiently. America will help economies and democracies across the world.

Overall, America should be the policemen of the world. United States of America can help keep countries clean of terrorists and help stable the world's economy. The US has the power and the ability to play this role in the world
