Xiamen tourist investment project

First of all, I’d like to express my appreciation for your attention and support for the development of Xiamen’s tourism industry. Thank you for your presence here to hear my introduction to some projects of recruiting business and bringing in funds for Xiamen’s tourist industry.

Xiamen covers a total area of 1565 square kilometers. Its coastline is 234 kilometers long and among which 12.56 kilometers are suitable opening up sea water bathing beaches.  As it is a habitat for egrets, the city is also called as the “island of egrets”. Xiamen also has the good reputation as “garden on the sea” and “the most warmth city in China”, and world-famous for its charming landscape and seascape and beautiful city environment. In 1998, it was awarded as “the first group of best tourist city in China” and was one of ten most popular tourist destination cities in China. In terms of earning foreign exchange from tourism, Xiamen ranked in the top ten tourist cities in China for 13 successive years since 1991. In 2003, there are about 13.3407 million tourists came Xiamen for a visit and its tourism revenue totaled RMB 16.532 billion.

Xiamen municipal committee of the CPC and the city government have taken top priority to developing tourism, fully realizing the importance role tourism plays in developing the city’s economy, and regarding tourism as a new growth point and a mainstay industry in its economic development. The government also introduced quite a few of preferential policies for encouraging the development of tourist industry. They also pointed out that to build Xiamen as an important central tourism city in the western coast economic zone.

Now, I will focus on the introduction of several projects. First, let’s look at a five-star hotel project on Minzu Road. The hotel is located in the central part of Xiamen’s old town, boasting a great geographical location. It is close to the busy Zhongshan Road commercial area and near to Lujiang Road of the transportation hub.  It is convenient and accessible in traffic. At the same time, adding to the beautiful surrounding environment and it overlooking the famous tourist attraction across the sea --Gulangyu islet, the hotel would be a great place for enjoying the panoramic view of Gulangyu as well as the beautifu sights of Lujiang.

The planned construction area is 9066.409 square meters, for a five-star hotel. Other major requirements are as follows: The total floor space should be no more than 50 thousand square meters, with a maximum volume ratio of 5.51, maximum height of 100 meters, a maximum construction density of 45%, and a minimum green rate of 30%. The whole project estimated that will cost 48.36 US million and the investment way is held by one company.
