There are different generations; I happen to belong to Generation X. Generation X is the generation born between 1965 and 1981. This generation tends to be the most often the children of divorced parents, latch key kids, AIDS, corruption in the world, downsizing, and also to space shuttle disasters. The values of the Generation X, they focus on extrinsic rewards from their work, they learned to become tech savvy, learn quickly, have a work life balance, and embrace diversity.

This group describes me and the way I think and live. I have had to learn quickly to keep up with the ever changing world of technology. Generation X grew up when computers were first being introduced and thus the Generation Y and Generation Me have grown up with never knowing life without all of the gadgets that have become available due to the technological advances of computers.

College has become important to me as it is helping me to become more competitive in the work force in comparison to Generation Y and Generation Me. By continuing my education and learning about the other generations and what they are like help me to be competitive when competing for jobs.

Generation X wants more from their family life. They want their kids to have more than what they had growing up. Generation X thought that their parents worked too hard and were too permissive. This is why Generation X wants a work/life balance and they view it as a right and not a privilege and therefore demand this when they go from job to job to better their lifestyle.

Being part of Generation X, I feel that I have a balance of understanding where I have come and where I am going. I feel that by keeping
