Part: 1 Expectations and Responsibilities of a CCA student

As a CCA student we are expected to maintain a satisfactory attendance level in class, lab, and

all clinical placements as well. This means passing all theory work before being accepted into said clinical placements, and passing every component before advancing to the next. A passing mark must be reached on every component to be eligible to write the Provincial exam as well.

We as CCA students are expected to participate in a minimum of 436 theory and lab hours, this will consist of things such as in class discussions, reviewing textbook chapters, group work and sharing personal experiences to learn from each other, and hands on work with physio therapist. However we have to pass these clinical hours at a facility and are also expected participate in a provincial exam provided by the education institution with the CCA Administration and are required to achieve a passing mark of at least 75% this must be done with full participation and to not just observe. Once you've graduated your name will and statistics will be placed in a database at the CCA administration.

Furthermore as a CCA student we are also taught what our scope of practice is and how to stay within that scope of practice when working in the field even though future employer's scope of practice may stray from our own. It's important to double check with our superiors and voice opinions and share ideas to employers and co-workers about this.

At the end of our 9 months together with will have all the things necessary to teach us how to have proper coping skills as well as knowledge, and attitudes to provide quality care to our clients and or residents who may live at home or in a facility
