Marketing Research

Marketing is the process of communicating the cost of a product or service to consumers. Marketing communication allows the organization to function by maintaining customer relationships while delivering value to customers that benefits both the company and its stakeholders. This paper will explain the importance that marketing research has on Kudler Fine Foods. Kudler sells pastries, baking products, fresh produce, fresh seafood, meat, packaged food, condiments, cheese, dairy, and wine. Before said products can begin to be sold, there has to be research on the market to ensure that the goods and services that Kudler has to offer are needed in that specific area. In this paper I will also explain the different ways marketing strategies and tactics are developed, and identify areas where marketing research is needed in order to promote Kudler's catering business.

Marketing research links, customers, consumers, and the public to the seller through information that are used to categorize and explain marketing problems along with opportunities that evaluate, refine, and generate marketing actions and performance. In order to understand the market and whether or not there is a need for a service marketing research has to be done. Marketing research will help target the right people who are in need of the goods and services a company has to offer. Marketing research categorizes information, implements and manages collected data, evaluates the outcomes, and communicates the conclusions and their effects. There are two key elements in deciding how to collect data and they are concept and method. Concepts are ideas about a good or service. There is a consistent change in new products so in order for a business to keep up with change marketing research has to be done in order to develop different concepts that fit the needs of the customers. Methods are different approaches used from the collected data to help solve the problem. In order to balance irregular consumer performance, companies capitalize in market research.

Kudler Fine Foods is considering starting a catering service, but before they can start, marketing research has to be done in order to determine the best course of action. Kudler has to define the marketing problems along with the different opportunities that will increase customer satisfaction, then develop a structured plan to determine if their decision will be effective and benefit both the business and society. People have become concerned about their health and are looking to eat healthy and get into shape. As people decide to diet they find out the importance of eating organic foods. Organic foods contain essential minerals, vitamins, and fiber that helps prevent chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, stroke, and certain types of cancer. The change in the way consumers view their health has allowed businesses like Kudler to provide goods and services that are needed in the market today. Research then had to be done and a decision had to be made on contracting with local farmers for organic foods. With the organic food market making a drastic change people are cooking and eating healthier than ever, so the decision to sell organic produce is the right direction for Kudler.

Kudler has to come up with a method in which customers can try the goods and services Kudlers has to offer and give feedback as well. A method that Kudler can use is providing free samples. This will allow Kudler to introduce
