The effects of cell phones while driving

Driving can be beneficial as well as deadly. People today drive so carelessly without giving accidents any second thoughts. There are so many reasons why people could easily get distracted. Many people do not take driving as seriously as they should. Thus reliability on cell phones has become somewhat overwhelming over the years, and the advancement has begun to hinder our minds. Showing that whoever invented cell phones made telecommunication every body's everyday procedures. The cause of talking and texting behind the wheel makes an effect on the attention given while driving.

There have been many advertisements in newspapers and on television telling people to drive safely. Precautions should always be taken such as; wearing seatbelts, the awareness of other drivers, and the use of turning signals. The numbers of distractions while behind the wheel are endless. From texting, talking, eating and drinking, to running red lights and forgetting to use their turning signals, they give many reasons to encounter accidents. Cell phones are still the number one cause of car accidents due to the lack of attention given.

Texting is by far the biggest cause of accidents among teen drivers. Many teenagers believe that it is safe to text and drive as long as they have one hand on the wheel and steadily look up and down. Unfortunately that is not true because of other drivers. While driving they must look out for themselves as well as others. Thus, not paying attention to the road for one split second could cause them their lives. Driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol may even be safer than texting. Keep in mind that there are no second chances after death.

The cause of talking on the phone while driving can affect their ability to completely focus on the road. When people communicate on the phone they tend to drive faster, as the person on the other line could be rushing them. Studies even showed that on average people tend to react thirty to fifty percent slower while on the phone. A person will drive up closer behind a car while on the phone, than a person that is drunk. The mind is our source of analogy and concentration, meaning it should never be over-worked.

There are endless amounts of effects on driving while using cell phones. From making sharp turns to showing a lack of concern for the road. People must understand that, they need to be cautious in order to be safe. But they continue to be ignorant, leading to the result of death. People are gullible, and usually do not believe things until they have seen them with their own eyes, which might sometimes be too late. Better safe, than sorry.
