The Time Machine

Frank and Joe are brothers who are 18 and 19 years old. Some friends at school and some neighbors call them “The science brothers.” Frank loves to read and explore about animals. Joe loves to build machines and do experiments.

One day Frank asked Joe, “Joe! Why don’t you make a time machine? I really want to meet Mr. Edison.” “Yes, I too want meet George Washington,” said Joe. So Joe agreed and started building the machine. Frank helped him too. It took them three weeks to finish the machine. They were so excited to test it.

Frank and Joe hurried into the time machine. As Frank was setting the dial, Joe got so excited that he hit Frank’s hand accidently. Frank couldn’t control the dial. It turned too far and it broke. Frank fell on the start button and before they realized what happened the time machine started to spin and shake and disappeared in a minute.

In no time they were in the time warp tunnel. Because of the speed Frank screamed, “Joe, I think I need to throw-up!” Frank stammered, “I’m too dizzy, I can’t see!” After approximately ten minutes they heard a big bang.

They recovered in about 5-10 minutes. They got out and to their astonishment; there were no houses in sight. “It looks like we are in a prehistoric landscape,” exclaimed Frank. Suddenly, they heard the trees shake. They looked behind and saw a big shadow. “What is that?” howled Joe. “Duck Joe!” shrieked Frank. Something with big wings flew past them. “W-w-what is that?” stammered Joe. “It is a Pterodactylus!” said Frank.

Soon after that as they were thirsty, they went to the nearby lake to drink some water. While they were drinking, Joe heard a loud, “thud-thud-thud.” “W-w-what is that?” stammered Joe. Frank looked up and saw a big dinosaur. “Allosaurus!” shouted Frank. “Are you kidding? That means we came 150 years back in time?” questioned Joe. “Yes,” explained Frank.

Both of them got up and slowly crept to the time machine while Frank engaged the Allosaurus by speaking to it softly. “Get me the frankfurters from the snack bag Joe!” said Frank softly. They fed the Allosaurus some frankfurters. “Arhhhh!” growled the dino. “Looks like he liked the snack,” said Joe happily.

Out of nowhere there came a herd of Allosaurus. They started zooming towards them. Frank quickly alerted Joe to fix the dial for the time machine while he hurried into the time machine and shut the door.
