4. Because Johnny Depp's character (Gilbert) has so many troubles that he has to deal with internally. Including his overweight mother his physically challenged brother and supporting the rest of his family.his mother who hasnt left the house in over sixteen years because of the death of her husbband boby grape. and his mentally challenged brother arnie grape who gilbert has to look after for his whole life.

5.The Grape household is dominated by 500-pound Momma who hasn't ventured outside in so long that local children sneak up to the Grape windows to stare at her. Gilbert helps them to look through there window so that he can show everyone that she is his overweigth mother.but in the household there is another family member of the grape family that dominates the house. he is gilberts mentally challenged bother arnie who likesclimbing the water tower. arnie puts the whole family into a state of emergency because he his not afraid of hights.

6.momma grape had finally left the coach and the grape house in over sixteen years after she had heard the news tah arnie had once again climb the water tower but this time the police had finally had enougth of getting arnie down from the water tower and took him down to the police stasion in endora .

7.i agree that people in endora are odd mostly gilberts two friends one of them drives around with a funeral car and he always talks about how he makes fun of dead poeple and how he plays with them and toaches them after they are dead, and his other friend who loves burger burn and how he would like to get burger buran in the small town of endora. and how much money he will get out of it.

8.Gilbert becomes the man of the house and takes on everyone else's responsibilities to the point where he doesn't know how to take care of himself. and because of his fathers death and there is no other man in the house so thats why he is the man of the house.
