In the play Antigone, two characters Antigone, and Creon are faced with many decisions on questioning their human nature. They must choose between what is right or wrong, what's moral and immoral, and what pleases and displeases the Gods. Creon as a king, and leader must do what is best for his city, while balancing his human nature.

Creon as a leader focuses on what is right for his city; He chooses his power as an authority figure over his family morals. Both Antigone and Creon's major argument is over laws. Antigone believes that some laws are unwritten, and we should do what we believe is right, and pleasing to the Gods, However, Creon believes that the city comes before family, and the protection of the city is more important then family duties, He believes that anything he says is a law. Since Creon's major concern is the well being of the family, his first argument is that Polynieces was a traitor to his city, and that a traitor should not be honored and buried as a hero. A dead enemy is still an enemy. Creon values friendship very highly, and has no respect for what Polynieces has done.
