Green 2throughout time; Christians must live by the same law today. Supporters of abortionvalidate their beliefs by claiming that because the child is still in the womb and is notfully developed, the fetus is not harmed. As previously noted, an embryo begins to growand develop the moment after conception. Aborting immediately stops this process andconsequently kills a young and helpless life. Illegitimate or unplanned children shouldnot receive punishment for their parent's lack of responsibility. Anyone with a goodmoral upbringing knows that he must take full responsibility of his own actions. Rapevictims, on the other hand, have done nothing wrong. These women do not wish tosuffer through a long pregnancy, either. Do these women have a right to terminate their baby's life? No. Jeremiah 29:11 states, "For I know the plans I have for you," declaresthe Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and afuture" (Holy Bible, Jeremiah 29.11). Carol is self-assured in the decision she made because sheknows she saved a life. This website holds over fifty stories such as these, all filled withbirth mothers claiming the confidence they have in their decision. "When the decision isright and true," writes Carol Ann, "no regret will ever shadow the days in which the childis with another." Many families are on waiting lists, hoping everyday to receive a callexplaining that there is a child waiting for them. A pole conducted by the Dayton Right toLife Society states that the 2,000,000 couples ready and waiting to adopt in the UnitedSates severely overwhelm the 50,000 babies placed for adoption each year (Just).
