There are several reasons as to why fast foods have risen to popularity at a substantial rate. Different people go there for their own reasons. One of the reasons is that the restaurants usually offer fast services. Many people usually find themselves to be late for work or school, thus they find it very difficult to prepare food in their homes since they believe it takes a lot of time, which makes them opt for fast foods as they only take a minimum of five minutes to get what they want, unlike the other restaurants where it can always take even up to thirty minutes or even one hours before the food is ready to be served.

Another reason that makes many people prefer fast food to those made at home or even some other restaurants is that they are always cheap. When all these are combines, we find that their cost would be way far much than just going to a fast food and get it at a cheaper price and also very fast (Bordo, 2007).

Many individuals also prefer fast foods as they are nutritious compared to those that are made at home. In order to prepare food that it nutritious, it requires a lot of ingredients that many people cannot afford, or might not just know how to use; hence they find it easier to go for them at the fast food restaurants.

Another reason and perhaps the most common that make people go for fast foods is that they are lazy to cook or are just too busy to do that. There are many people who do not like cooking, particularly the men who have not married, or just have a lot of work and do not have time for other things such as cooking; hence it becomes easy for them to eat fast foods. Others claim that fast food is sweeter than what they can prepare at their homes (Bordo, 2007).

Some individuals go for fast food as they consider it to be a treat for themselves. There are many people who like fun and one of the best places that they can always get that is at the fast food restaurants. A part from just eating, they also find the places as socializing venues where they can make many friends. The fast food restaurants also offer a lot of entertainment zones that make their clients comfortable as they enjoy their meals; this is one factor that will make many people to prefer going there as opposed to cooking food for themselves at their homes.

Nevertheless, everything that has advantages must also have its disadvantages and fast foods are not an exception. Several people who eat fast food do not always know the nutritional balance of the foods they take, and this is a major risk to health. The most negative or dangerous thing that comes with eating fast foods is that it causes some diseases. Research indicates that fast food lead to
