Role model and personal growth

If asked about a stranger whom I would like to spend time with, I would chose Oprah Winfrey. I chose Oprah because of her personality that is always seeking to help others in need no matter the condition, an essential trait with positive impact on my personal growth and general adjustment to the global world. This paper seeks to give a discussion of Oprah Winfrey's beliefs that are in sync with my personal growth, development and how I feel about her world views having a potential positive development in my life

Born on 29th of January 1954 Oprah Winfrey has ever since lived in Montecito CA. She lives with her partner Stedman Graham. She is an American talk show host, producer, actress, media perpetrator and a philanthropist. She is best known for her famous talk show that was from 1986-2001 ranked the best talk show of its kind. (Press Release, 2004) She is now the owner and CEO of the Oprah Winfrey Network. During her life as an Actress she was featured the movie The Color Purple, she also did documentaries and movies for HBO. She was also featured in Charlotte's Web as the voice of Gussie the Goose and in the movie Bumbleden in the Bee, as the voice Judge.

Oprah accepts all relationships whether it is between a woman and a man, gay or lesbian relationship. She lives with her partner, and it is believed that she has no plans for marriage in her future. A statement that was once made by Winfrey is that; "God is a feeling experience and not a believing experience. If your religion is a believing experience, then that is not truly God" (The Christian Post, 2008). Her believe makes me realize that Christianity is not compatible with New Age thought.

I believe that Oprah is a good role model because she always strives at helping anyone in the world. This is an essential trait in adjustment to the global world. Whether the people in question are in need of food or education, she tries her in helping them all, and is willing to donate money as well as raising money for any needy organization. For example, she headed up and organized the Angel Network Charity, an organization that supported charitable projects and provided grants to a nonprofit organization around the world.

In as far as Oprah may influence my life; I also feel that I can influence her life by suggesting some of her traits that I think she should change. In as far as
