The artwork that I selected is a picture of the Colombian flag and a beautiful cherry blossom tree in front of it. The picture is simple, yet beautiful. The colors are vibrant and crisp. Colombian people have a lot of national pride, and their flag is cherished. The colors of the Colombian flag definitely represent the country's values well. The yellow symbolizes sovereignty and justice; while the blue reflects loyalty, vigilance, and nobility, and the red reflect honor and bravery. I feel that this picture represents the Colombian culture well, because the people have a lot of national pride, but they also appreciate the beauty of life and nature.

Colombia is located on the northern tip of South America. The beaches there are gorgeous and the vegetation is fantastic. This picture does not have a set "function" per say in society, but the feeling of national pride and cultural beauty that it gives forth is outstanding. This picture really "speaks my language" with the way that it connects with me. The Colombian flag is a very significant part of the Colombian lifestyle. It represents the values and qualities that Colombia was founded on and still possesses today. The Colombian people really take pride in their country and their sense of community within their country.
