Amazing Case

On the year of 2009, July, I enrolled into KDU, taking Diploma in International Hotel and Tourism Management. I have a very strong interest in this course as my aunt is a part of them and she taught me a lot of knowledge about the hospitality industry.

I enrolled into this course since July 2009. I learned tonnes of knowledge which taught by the experienced lecturers in KDU. I was explored to the knowledge of Front Office Management. In this subject, I learned how to handle and solve the problems that the guests faced to make them satisfy and happy. Besides, I learned the knowledge about the Opera System for reservation, check-in, check-out procedure and the billing.

For the Tourism Industry, I realized that the world of tourism is really very wide. I learned about the impacts of tourism and how tourism helps to raise the countries' economy. On the other hand, through the PDP class, I learned the skill to communicate with the guests and others. Besides, I learned French as it is the international language in the entire world and I managed to communicate in French with my classmate although my French is not that good. I learned other countries' cultures and history through the Tourism Geography's class and I gained more knowledge in knowing other countries' cultures well.

This year, I learned how to cook and how to serve people with the correct sequence through IFood Production and Food Service. Chef Syed taught me how to cook a delicious meal and bread roll. Till now, I managed to make bread roll on my own. Besides, I learned the service skill and the sequence when serving the guests in the restaurant. I learned about the skill on how to manage a restaurant and handling the guests' complaints. After few weeks, I had gone through the responsibility of being a bartender, an assistant manager and a server. On the 12th week, I'm going to be a manger. I am looking forward to be a manager as I could gain more knowledge and have a experience on being a manager. Furthermore, through Housekeeping subject, I learned how to make a bed and how to clean the public area. I managed to make a bed in 6 minutes.

As a conclusion, I will work more harder in this semester to gain what I wanted and hoping to pass this semester with flying colours.
