In terms of crime, crime is illegal actions that violate the law and breaking certain laws set in place by the criminal justice system. Persons who break the law will face consequences under the statute of that particular law, whether it is incarceration or probation meaning no jail time.

For training purposes only the criminal justice system is like an organization, but it is not any organization it is a fortune 500 organization with smaller entities inside it. In other words it sits at the helm of the law. For example the criminal justice system in the United States separates from state to state, but each state share the same components - the process on handling different cases such as adult and juvenile cases. The components that each state follows are in order by law enforcement, the Court, and Corrections department.

The most dangerous component of the criminal justice system is law enforcement because local police precincts and departments employee hundreds of thousands of men and women who swore to protect the innocent from the criminals who break the law daily. These precincts and local departments' duties include arresting, documenting conversations/paperwork, and securing men/women who broke the law. Each of these persons who hold a position in the Courts must make sure those accused of a crime receive fair and equal trials before a room of their peers. Judges are also known as 'finders of facts,' and 'peace keepers,' and they hear the cases and preside over the offenders to make sure that laws are meet and followed according whereas the cases are simply held. Many cases are heard only in front of a judge, and other cases are tried, and have a jury of 12 peers over the age of 18 who will determine the a defendant guilty or innocent of a crime based on evidence brought forth during a trial. A jury may recommend what a sentence should be (meaning if they think the crime does not fit the punishment). A judge will always make a final decision or a sentence except if there are pre-determined guideline sentences that must be implemented.

The third component line of the criminal justice system is the Corrections. The Corrections is the last line of the process. This process carries out the Courts punishment he or she received from their crime. The Corrections system works closely with the other two components, the communication between the components are very important and makes up a large part of the justice system. Within the Corrections system it
