Subject: Relationship Advice

Dear Mary Jane and Ron Bradshaw,

First of all, I would like to wish you congratulations on your engagement and impending marriage. I understand that you have been told about my recent course on Interpersonal Communication and that the two of you are seeking advice that you might be able to use effectively in your relationship and future marriage. I am thrilled that you hold me in such high regards that you would take advice from me, and I will be more than happy to impart some of the information that I have learned in order to help assure you both of a long and lasting relationship.

My advice will be information learned during the course of my text materials and other outside research information on this subject. I'm making my attempt In my classroom textbook, Making Connections: Understanding Interpersonal Communication, written by Kathy Sole in 2011

When dating, there is nothing that I have experience emotionally that is comparable to the excitement of finding and falling in love with someone. Having the ability to engage in a courtship with this person that we have allowed into our life, we welcome all of his or her interpersonal attributes. Whenever someone verbally states that they are in a relationship, we often can't help but to share this bit of news accompanied by facial gestures, because dating is always about having fun with this new person that you love (Sole, K 2011). Your ultimate goal and number one priority is making this person happy, show him or her a good time, and always do fun and exciting things together. I want to be perfectly honest with the two of you and state that having a successful marriage is a hard job that requires your attention 24 hours a day 7 days a week and there is no time off for vacation or holidays. Marriage is nothing like dating! There are drastic changes that are completely different from the role of courtship and cause many couples to dissipate their marriage within the first or second year. In other words being married is always a work in progress and there are no perfect marriages. I don't care how many married couples you have seen that lead you to form the opinion that they have the perfect marriage and relationship, let me enlighten you on the truth. Their marriage like all others encounters trails, tribulation, and mishaps.

Dating is a wonderful thing and being in love with your partner so much that you want to spend the rest of your life with that person is even better.
