Metacognition is the awareness and understanding of ones cognative process. Some of the metacognitive statagies that i used to make sense of hamilet's soliloquy is inffering.By combining the knolege i already know and details from the text I was able to interpret line 135 "Fie ; on't, ah fie! tis an unweeded garden that grows to seed ;thing rang and gross in nature merly posess it.By monitor for meaning we can realise Hamlet's anger and how loud he's speaking .Hamlet then says how Denmark seems to be going out of control and "things rank and gross in nature merly posses it" meaning his mother(Gertude) marrying Claudius so quickly after Hamlet senior died, and how it disgusts him to see his mother with claudius." Frailty thy name is women", by using sensory and emotional images i can deepen the meaning that hamelt is talking about his mother and how she could love someone so much and so long and hardly mourn when there gone. Also the facy that gertude is longing for Claudius really bothers him too." Ere yet the salt of most unrighteous tears Had left the flushing in her gallad eyes, she married ;" I found that line hard to understand because of the diction and the metaphor.By using schemata I was able to realise " Ere yet the salt of most unrighteous tears Had left the flushing in her gallad eyes," Hamlet is talking about the redness in her eyes from crying hypocritical tears then suddenly swiched from tears to smiles, the line puts emphasis on how fast she turned rom funeral to wedding.
