How do they improve operational efficiency and decision making?

They improve operational efficiency and decision making by keeping managers, employees, customers, suppliers, and business partners connected in every way possible. Email, online conferencing, the Web, and the Internet, are providing new and diverse lines of communication for all businesses, large and small. Through increased communication channels and decreased costs of the communications, customers are demanding more of businesses in terms of service and product, at lower costs. E-commerce is changing the way businesses must attract and respond to customers.

2. Identify the problems that business in this case study solved by using mobile digital devices.

In Doylestown Hospital they solved the problem of communication and collecting the information by customizing the iPhone to provide doctors with secure mobile access from any location in the world to the hospital's MEDITECH electronic medical record system.

In D.W Morgan it's a transportation and logistics provider to big companies it was absolutely critical to know the exact moment when delivery trucks will arrive, in the past it took many phone calls and great deal of manual effort to provide customers with such precise up-to-the-minute information, the company was able to develop a ChainLink Mobile application for its 30 drivers that update shipment information, collect signatures, and provides global positioning system (GPS) location on each individual box delivers by collecting signature on the iPhone screen.

In Aedas Sport its one of the world's foremost designers of multipurpose sports, entertainment and exhibition facilities, they equipped all their employees with an iphone, designers and architects who work in an almost continuous stream of communication use their iPhone cameras to take pictures of designs, models and constructions. They send the photos along with emails around the office, the iphone has made it possible for Aedas Sport to build a large archive of visual assets without planning or extra effort
