A musician is Someone who plays an instrument in a band,orchestra,or by themselves. Most musicians will perform for live audiences. However, some musicians teach music classes to students or become a music enrichment teacher. Most modern musicians will record songs or albums for a general audience. Musicians will also have interviews and create a website to start active with the media to gain a larger fan base. I choose the career and life of a Mackinac because I believe in my personal musical talent, and after reviewing my data on this career, I still find it quite appealing. And even though this job is rather difficult, due the the irregular work schedule and periods of unemployment, I would still like to pursue it.

Musicians have many tactics to keeping up with society. Most perform for live audiences and record and produce their own songs. Musicians must also create a fan base, either through social media networks out through the popularity of the songs they have distributed. Many popular musicians in today's society may also preform various genres of music, as well as various instruments. John Page started that "different instruments follow specific patterns...such as a bassist keeping a steady beat with the find" (Page ). In order for musicians to be discovered, they must perform at venues, but before each show, a busy schedule of practices and rehearsals are done in preparation for the live performance. Some may also preform nationally and internationally on frequent tours (http://www.bls.gov 1-3).

Musicians normally work irregular schedules with numerous rehearsals and practices during free time. A multitude of musicians preform in symphony orchestras, bands, rock groups, or jazz "combos." Most must find other jobs to balance their income and some even work for multiple employers (Book 123-125).

Classical musicians require a bachelors degree in music theory to teach music to aspiring students, or to preform or conduct a symphony orchestra. On the other hand, modern pop stars with popular radio hits require no formal training or education. Some musicians attend rehearsals regularly and schedule performances themselves, but the more popular stars hire an agent to book all of their shows. Both classical musicians and radio wonders need prolonged training and plenty of practice. However, classical musicians need additional training through camps, fellowships, and so forth (http://www.bls.gov 4). Many successful musicians start practicing at a young age, yet some are far more musically inclined others. Along with this career comes the need for for great mental and physical discipline. They endure long hours of travel, performance, and practice (Book 124).

The majority of musicians often receive approximately thirty dollars an hour in terms of payment, and the number of hours spent in a studio recording or performing on stage. On some occasions the pay rate can differ from
