Striving to have a bit of paradise is life goals. Paradise can have different meanings according to the individual. Third world countries continue to experience hopelessness and adversity therefore the government of these countries will search for assistance from more highly developed countries hoping to advance the lives of the nation living in the less promising countries.

The issue of Kava that is located in the South Pacific faces dilemmas such as ways in which the Department of Human Services hopes to help create a better existence in Kava. DHS duty is to assist individuals in becoming self-sufficient, vigorous, and protected. An office has been set up in Kava to help Nik, Alex, and Chris in their implementation plan for the island. Rational decision-making along with Consensus, brainstorming, grids, and data sheets will provide greater assistance for the Department of Human Services in providing adequate help for the people and the island of Kava.

Nik is a recent college graduate who has found a promising job within his field. A former friend and Nik have recently reconnected. The former friend could prove to be the love of her life. Nik's love life could be a bit closer to paradise. Believing that paradise has been found through her new employment and her first assignment of traveling to the island of Kava, Nik believes that paradise could not be any better. Nik envisions white beaches, gentle surfs, palm trees swaying, and tropical breezes.

Nik will be training with Alex, the director of strategic planning. Alex is known to be a very demanding, very experienced, and very influential executive. Nik is eager to start her new adventure on the island of Kava although she has no idea of what she will be doing in her first assignment.

Nik's first week with the new company was completely overwhelming with a short introduction about the company, procedures pertaining to the HR department, processes of organizational techniques, brief Kava summary, and air travel preparations. After finalizing arrangements Nik was on her way to Kava.

Once landing in Kava, Nik realized that paradise was not as he had imagined it would be. The island was a mess all the way to the trailer that was a make shift office for the company. Upon entering the office Nik meets Alex who is also the receptionist sitting behind the desk of the make shift office. After greeting each other and neither perceived as expected, Alex explains to Nik the devastation that has taken place on the island.

Although the country produces cocoa, bananas, sugar, petroleum, fishing, coffee, spices, natural gas, tourism, and cheap work factors such as tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires, volcano eruptions, earthquakes, and petroleum spills has caused devastation on the island. Devastation of loved ones stricken with the high risk for avian flu and HIV/AIDS has also contributed to the destruction of Kava.
