When one describes Nicki Minaj, many use the words "big a**", "pink hair" and "wonderful lyrics". Nicki Minaj has become a prominent female artist in hip-hop. She is known for her out of this world outfits, colorful wigs, and funky alter egos. Although Nicki Minaj is a rapper, she is able to extend her language and mannerisms into other genres of music. Most women rappers before her were unable to do that. Most of her songs are unique, such as "Roman's Revenge" in which her alter ego Roman Zolanski makes an introduction. Her alter ego seems to have a British accent. Nicki Minaj claims that he is her twin brother, who was born inside of her out of rage. Nicki Minaj has also influenced fashion. Many girls wore Pink wigs and bubble pink lipstick, which are trademarks of Nicki Minaj. As a woman, Nick Minaj has gained importance in the fashion industry. Nicki Minaj has partnered up with Betsy Johnson. She also collaborated with M.A.C cosmetics to raise money for the M.A.C aids fund. To many, Nicki Minaj is regarded as a woman who is the epitome of sex. In her videos she is adorned in revealing attire. She wears corsets to highlight her waist and push up her bust. She has a out of this world beauty, from her long eyelashes to her passion pink blush. Nicki Minaj is the beauty that girls wish to attain. She does not seem to have any flaws on the outside; she clearly defines the "harijuku Barbie".

Although Nicki Minaj is influential in terms of her music and image, her songs sometimes seem like they are ridiculing women. In the song "did it on em" Nicki Minaj says "...Talk slick, I'ma have to terminate her. These little nappy headed ho's need a perminator. You my seed, I spray you with germinator" (lines 38-39). From the verse, it seems as if Nicki Minaj is insulting women, however she is insulting female rappers that came before her. She wants past female rappers and others recognize that she has made it even though these individuals had no faith in her. Another song in which Nicki Minaj seems to degrade women is "Stupid Hoe". This song was a response to what Lil Kim sang regarding Nicki Minaj. Nicki Minaj has also been influenced by lil Wayne, she tells everyone that she is the female weezy. Nicki Minaj often convey's a masculine front, in her song "did it on em" she says, "If I had a di*k, I would pull It out and piss on them".
