It is commonly understood that prison is the place where guilty persons should spend their punishment. This has been seen in criminal society. It is argued that this system is not effective. However, prison is the place where not merely to reform offenders but also to create peaceful and safe communities. This will be shown by taking into account the benefits and drawbacks of prisons.

Firstly, the prison system does have drawbacks. However, the most important point is that many people assume that prison is the place where professional criminals graduate. In addition, many criminals might lose their jobs and by doing this, it might lead to aggressive people who hate the society. It is obvious when looking at this point that the law should try to restrict crime in the community. However, this way sometimes is not an efficient approach to tackle the problem.

Looking second of the benefits of punishing offenders by prison system are following a number of points. Firstly, it is a suitable place to train offenders to do different handcrafts and technical works. Secondly, sending a guilty person to the prison resulted in a crime that he or she has done a sufficient punishment it might lead to modify their behaviour. For instance, in Saudi Arabia there are many people who become respectable and famous after they spent part of their lives in prisons, such as Suleiman Al odah and others. This example clearly shows that prison can make changes in education and rehabilitation of offenders. It can be concluded that offenders have benefit of prisons.

After analysing areas of the advantages and disadvantages of the prison as approach to punish people after they act of violence, it seems clear that the benefits will far outweigh the disadvantages. Communities ought to reconsider to create the effective manner to prevent the offence. People also should be encouraged to consider the law need to be strictly enforced.
