Earlier today in my English2 class, we had an impromptu speech and we were asked to pick a question from the mug my prof brought in class. The topic that I got was The things I'd change if I ruled the world. I couldn't think of anything to talk about in class, maybe because I was really nervous, even though we're just five in class, including Miss D. But then, after giving us like a 5 minute break for us to think about what we're gonna say/discuss, I thought of the most common things I always get or experience from other people and vice versa. LOL.

Things I'd change if I ruled the world:

Discrimination.

Respect.

It's very common for us people to think that we're superior than others. Discrimination. Everyone has experienced it already, it could be at school, work, at their home or anywhere, really. Like for example, based on my experience, I have been discriminated since I was a kid. Why? Because I'm not like those sexy girls you guys see on the internet, on a magazine, on TV or even in your school. Since then, my day isn't complete without hearing the words "malaki" or "mataba" or "sexy" but of course, in a sarcastic way. Even though some of my friends have been telling me that I have this "shape" that I should be proud of, I still get the feeling of being discriminated, of being left out, because I was and still am the only one who's fat in the group. Yes, both my high school and college friends are thin and have nice bodies. It sucks when you're always left out.

I really didn't know what to use in class earlier as an example, so I thought of using us Filipinos, like for example, when we go abroad, some foreigners think of us like we're weak and treat us like slaves when in fact, we can do so much better than them. Like in my case, a lot of people don't know about me is that I used to join in beauty contests when I was still a kid and that I was a consistent dancer and singer of the year since elementary, and when I tell these stuff to some of my friends, they always find it funny and yes, they never believe me like as if I was just joking. Reason? I'm too fucking fat and not too fucking pretty to have the guts to join in the freaking beauty contests.

Respect. It's about treating people right and getting what they deserve. And because I'm classmates with two of my friends, I used myself as an example. I told in class about myself not getting the respect I deserve, because almost all of my friends are boys and yes, I am always one of the boys, so they think I'm like them, I think and act like them, and they always forget that I am a girl, that I should be treated like a girl and that they should give me the respect a girl deserves.

I
