Spiritual leadership book report

Spiritual Leadership by J. Oswald Sanders. This book was first published in the United States by Moody Publishers with the title Spiritual Leadership, copyright 1967. The pages contained in this book are 189.

This book has great lessons on Leadership and the fact that the author derives the principles from the bible is just amazing. Godly attitude lies at the heart of christian leadership, no principles are borrowed from the world then appied to the chuch. I think its an eye opener and all christians should read it to better their understanding of God's leadership in their own lives. I found that the author does not emphasis on a method of leadership, but on character, what you are passionate about and godliness. From the Author, Christianity needs a powerful voice in today's world. Such a voice can come only from strong leaders guided by God and devoted to Christ. This book encourages you to place your talents and powers at His disposal so you cann become a leader used for His glory.

True greatness, true leadership, is found in giving yourself in service to others, not in coaxing or inducing others to serve you. We must aim to put more into life than we take out. Spiritual leadership is a matter of being chosen, rather than choosing. Spiritual leadership is all about being last, rather than first. A spiritual leader is one that imitates Christ Jesus , the greatest spiritual leader of all. As important as it is for a leader to listen, lead, articulate, and inspire well, what takes precedence over any method or skill is one's connection to the vine - Jesus Christ. This was my greatest lesson or take out. I would not use this book for skill training in leadership although the book does touch on practical areas, such as time, reading, and delegation, but I would not say that this is the best book to read regarding those areas it was not deep. The book does a great job grounding leadership in the foundation of Jesus Christ, from whom spiritual leaders are chosen. Ledaers must be diversifying in their reading influence to further their knowledge. The author puts an emphasis on the importance of reading. I was also greatly impacted by the author's in depth reflection on the leadership of Nehemiah, Peter and Paul. This book has made me to wrestle with my finding, which I guess is a good thing that a good book does for you and starts to make you think.
