What matters most to me is success. It looks like an easy goal, but I don’t think it can be achieved easily. Once in a while when I was a primary student, one guest in dinner talked to me because my father is a politician in my town, and I am his son. And that gave me an illusion that I was somebody as well. But later I found out that I was nobody because the guest did not recognize me at all when we met again.

What happened above taught me a lesson that I would never be somebody if I do not have some success in my pocket. But success is not something that will happen to me easily, and I understand very well that I have to work hard and do my best to make sure that I can have the chance to be successful. I worked as an intern in a major Chinese securities company last summer, and I worked very hard everyday. Not surprisingly, I have earned my colleagues’ respect.

But also during the internship, I understood that I need to continue my education in order to secure my future success.  I have seen my colleagues with the bachelor’s degree were struggling to get a promotion, but others with the master’s degree or a doctorate can have a higher possibility of getting promoted even with same workload. I believe that this internship also strengthened my determination of getting a master’s degree in order to make myself more competitive in the long-run.

Now that I have known what matters to me and in which way I can achieve success, what I have to do is to work even harder to make sure that I can succeed in financial area. And I firmly believe that your school will give me the best help I need.
