The name of my journal article is Student Risk-Taking Behaviors: When Do School Counselors Break Confidentiality? The type of research this article used was qualitative research. The kind of qualitative method used was surveys. The research question or hypothesis was school counselors of middle and high students all across the United States were solicited to find out if their perspectives on particular adolescent risk-taking behaviors of volatile intensity, frequency, and duration are giving grounds for notifying parents? The results that was found is that in the school counselors' opinions it is ethical to breach the students' confidentiality and give an account of the risk-taking behaviors that were enhanced due to their increases in intensity, frequency and extended duration. There was a lesser amount of uncertainty concerning the recognizable seriousness of a few of the behaviors such as suicidal ideation because those who responded gave consideration to their compliance to sever confidentiality even though the entire risk-taking behaviors demonstrated various discrepancies or disparities amongst the school counselors.

The implications of the results for the following proposals were provided to school counselors for the appropriate ways for them to plan for themselves and their coworkers so that they can take action with these inevitable ethical predicaments. These are the following suggestions: School counselors must go to school, district, and statewide pre-service instructions to better enlighten themselves with ethical codes, state statutes, and district policies. School counselors must think about how their personal knowledge, ethics, worth and religious convictions influence how precarious they observe a learner's behavior to be (Glosoff & Pate, 2002). At times it might be impractical to fully eliminate school counselors' worth from the counseling relationship because they know how to constantly confront their predispositions and opinions so that they do not inflict their own worth on the learners (ASCA, 2004). School counselors must request conferences with coworkers and/or administrators and use open discussion with individuals in the school counseling profession to talk about the unusual ethical problems that they both might encounter. For this reason evaluating relevant data with other trained individuals might be advantageous in obtaining school counselors closer to discovering how a "sensible counselor" should behave in complicated circumstances. School counselors must think about every potential consequence of their acknowledgments even if they do not make any acknowledgments. School counselors must think about both legal and ethical necessities when choosing the greatest potential method to decide upon.
